Georgia Popoff, workshop leader

Stop Kicking Yourself: Overcoming Reluctance to Self-promote

Georgia A. Popoff is a poet, editor, educator, and teaching artist with decades of experience leading workshops in schools and community settings. She coordinates the YMCA of Central New York’s Downtown Writers Center in Syracuse, where she has taught poetry and nonfiction since 2000 and launched the Young Authors Academy. Author of four poetry collections, including Psychometry (2019), Georgia has also co-authored and edited works on poetry, literacy, and social justice. She has presented nationally and internationally, served as senior editor for The Comstock Review, and continues to mentor writers while producing readings, workshops, and literary events.

Dr. Luissa Kiprono, workshop leader

From Story to Strategy: Building a Brand and Business Beyond the Book.

Dr. Luissa Kiprono—bestselling author of Push, Then Breathe, physician-entrepreneur, and founder of TeleMed MFM—will deliver a high-impact session on what it truly takes to write, publish, and market a successful book. Moving beyond theory, she will break down the real-world strategies that transform authors into authorpreneurs: building authority, creating visibility, leveraging podcast and speaking opportunities, positioning your message for long-term impact, and confidently selling without feeling salesy. Drawing from her own journey of turning a personal memoir into a national platform, Dr. Kiprono offers practical, actionable tools that help writers not only launch a book—but build a brand, a movement, and sustainable momentum around their message.

Roxanne Bocyck, Author of Catherine's Dream

Author Tables 101: Hands-on Basics for Successful Book Events

Roxanne Bocyck is a writer, author advocate, and community builder who has always been drawn to creativity and storytelling. She began her professional writing career as a feature writer for two weekly newspapers in her hometown of Phoenix, New York, where she learned the power of telling real stories that connect people.
Her debut novel, Catherine’s Dream: A Story of Spirit and Courage, was inspired by her grandmother’s immigration journey from Poland to America in 1921. The novel has been praised for its historical richness and uplifting message about resilience, hope, and pursuing one’s dreams, and was named a finalist for the CNY Book Awards.
Today, Roxanne is passionate about supporting writers and authors at every stage of their journey. Through mentoring, event planning, and community-building, she helps writers overcome obstacles, gain clarity, and navigate the often-overwhelming world of publishing and book promotion. As a partner in The Eagle Writers Alliance, her work centers around connection—linking writers to resources, each other, and to their own sense of purpose.
